Swing Along Code of Conduct

Making swing dance events a welcoming place

At Swing Along we want all participants to have a good time, meet new people, learn and feel comfortable during the classes, and enjoy the socials. We value diversity, respect individuality and there are a few things that we would ask participants to keep in mind. It’s about respecting fellow dancers, taking care of the people around them and participating in making swing dance events a welcoming space for everyone.

This environment is for everyone regardless of gender/gender identity, race, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, religion. We will not tolerate harassment of any kind. If you are on the receiving end of such behavior, or you notice something, please come speak to the organizers.

Be respectful on the dance floor. If there is a collision of any kind on the dance floor all parties involved should apologize. As the dance floor will get crowded during the night, use your common sense and do not try to do air steps or dangerous moves that could harm you, your partner, or other people around you. It is every dancer’s responsibility to be aware of their own and their partner’s movement and position, as well as the movement and position of the dancers surrounding them, in order to avoid all forms of dangerous contact.

Please be respectful to event staff, even if you are experiencing a personal frustration. Without the goodwill of these individuals, a smoothly functioning event is impossible.

As event organisers, dancers, teachers and members of the local and international swing dance community, we are committed to do our best to ensure our events and classes are a safe and welcoming space for everyone to join in and feel comfortable. We educate ourselves and encourage discussions about social topics, we learn and respect history and take initiatives to make our local scene and international events inclusive.

Swing Along Terms of Use

Registration and admission policies

1. By submitting the registration form, each person is confirming his or her intent to participate in Swing Along and become a member of Kunia Cultural Hub.

2. All the participants during the Festival agree to these Terms and Conditions and to the instructions given by the organisers and other persons involved in the Festival.

3. By submitting the registration form, the registrant agrees to processing of his/her personal data by the Swing Along organisers as necessary for the completion of the registration process as permitted by law.

4. Filling the registration form on the www.kunia.gr website does not guarantee participation. After successful submission of the form, each participant should receive “Registration Validation and Payment Details” email. In the case of Lindy Single Pass where you are in a waiting list, you will receive this email after a successful partner match. If you haven’t received a confirmation e-mail, please report it as soon as possible by sending an email to hello@kunia.gr

5. The organisation guarantees admission to the dance camp only after complete payment of the festival fee. If you choose to pay by bank transfer a 3 euro transfer fee should be included in the payment. If you registered with a partner this means both of you need to complete the payment. Payments must be made within 10 days after the registration date. If participants fail to process payment within ten days their registration may be cancelled.

6. The organisation will not be held responsible for any expense incurred by the attendee, unless differently stated in the Cancellation Policies

7. The organisation reserves the right to revoke admission to the festival, with no fee reimbursement, to attendees not respecting these terms and conditions. This also affects the registration of your sign-up partner.

19. The priority in taking part in the festival belongs to participants registering as a couple. Participants registering as a couple need to fill the form separately and put their partners’ name in the corresponding box.

20. The selection of the theme classes will be on a first come first served basis. Although we would try to accommodate everyone’s first choices we can’t guarantee all the theme classes will be available by the time you register. The reason for that is to make sure classes are not overcrowded and everyone makes the most out of them.

Cancellations Policy

21. In case of cancellation by the participants no refunds will be given under any circumstances.

22. If for any reason you have to cancel your registration, you can transfer your registration to someone else, at the same level and the role (lead/follow) as you. Please inform the organisers for the change to avoid problems and delays at the registration desk

23. There are no refunds for your payment. If the event is cancelled by the organisers you will be refunded by 80% if it’s earlier than 15 days of the festival’s starting date.

24. In case of cancellation of the festival due to natural disasters, pandemics riots, strike of the airlines and/or civil aviation authority, bankruptcy and restructuring of the debt of Greece within a margin of 15 days before the festival, no refund will be made to the participants whatsoever.
